Awesome Libraries
Whilst reorganizing my book shelf (a task that is undoubtably super interesting and worthy of blogging about. Please, readjust yourself from the edge of your seat.) I took it upon myself to look at some book shelfs and libraries for inspiration (again, superior blogging, please hold your applause till the end). I’ve researched libraries before, but I’m always amazed at how beautiful some are. An incredibly nerdy, but hopefully fulfilling trip would be to visit all the beautiful libraries of the world. Here’s a few of my favorites:

Trinity College Library, Dublin, Ireland. (Nerd side note, Star Wars totally ripped this library off for the look of the Jedi Archives in the prequels. Don’t believe me? Check it. Can’t blame them though, it looks gorgeous, plus it holds The Book of Kells. Definitely must see on my list.) (Nerd side-side note: Pretty funny, clearly I’m not the first nerd to stumble upon this.)

The Old Library, Handelingenkamer, Netherlands. Love the color and design of this one. If I was a bazillionaire, I’d totally rip this one off to include in my imaginary house.

George Peabody Library, Mount Vernon, Baltimore.

Jay Walker’s Personal Library. This straight up looks like the coolest library ever made. The founder of Priceline.com has decked out his library to be the ultimate geek’s sanctuary. Nothing short of awesome. More on it here.

Hereford Cathedral Chained Library, Hereford, England. Nothing like rare books being chained up to library shelves. Would certainly love to visit this library for at least the opportunity to pretend I was Harry Potter sneaking into the restricted section… Sh… Shut up. (walks away defensively)
And finally, while there are certainly an incredible number of beautiful libraries around the world that aren’t featured here, there’s only one that I would love to see the most:
The Beauty and the Beast Library. Possibly the most beautiful library ever. Someone should bring this thing into reality one day, but for now, seeing Belle and the Beast fall in love between its shelves shall have to do.
Cheers.
